Henry Hinkle, 71, Succumbs In Hospital
Henry Hinkle, 71, Unionville Road, Route 2, died at Bloomington hospital, where he was removed Sunday from the Percified nursing home, where he suffered burns Saturday morning.
Fireman were called to the nursing home 1031 W. 6th St., at 7:20 a.m. Saturday and according to their report, Hinkle had set fire to his bed with a cigarette. His legs were severely burned, it was reported at that time.
Hinkle was a life resident of Monroe County, was a farmer and was well known for his dahlia farm. He was the son of John H. and Lora Ann (Rawlins) Hinkle. He was a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Daisy Garton, Unionville Rd., a son, John H. Hinkle, N. Park, and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and David K. Hinkle.
His body has been taken to the Allen Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Hinkle Funeral Rites Thursday
Funeral services for Henry E. Hinkle, 71, Unionville, Route 2, who died Tuesday, at Bloomington Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Allen Chapel. Rev. Richard Hamilton will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Elks will conduct a ritual in the Allen Chapel at 7 p.m. today.
Active pallbearers will be Glen Ball, Clyde Martin, Joseph Garton, James Hinkle, Nolan Welch and Wayne Ikerd. Honorary pallbearers will be John Sutphin, Robert Oliver, Ray Rogers, Ray Hinkle, Henry Andrews, Jacob French, Walter Allen, George Gaston, Claude Statts, Ben Becovitz, Frank Swarthout, Harold Flynn and Carl Bell. The body remains at the Allen Funeral Home where friends may call.
