Patricia A. Makarewicz, age 84 of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa, after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on June 21, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Warren J. and Lucille (Helm) O'Hare. She attended St. James Elementary School and was a 1946 graduate of Mary E. Bradford High School, where she served as a class officer. Pat received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from U.W.-Parkside.

On October 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to George A. Graham. Their union was blessed with three sons. George preceded her in death on April 17, 1965. On August 7, 1970 in Waukegan, she was married to Joseph Makarewicz.

Pat was employed as a teacher with the Bristol School District 1, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Kenosha County Retired Educators Association, Adventures in Lifelong Learning at U.W. Parkside and Kenlake Investment Club. Pat was an avid traveler, reader and bridge player. She enjoyed the time she spent at her book and bridge club.

Pat will be forever remembered by her husband of 42 years, Joseph; her three sons, Christopher J. (Joanne Anglesano) Graham of Lafayette, CO, Michael G. (Cindy) Graham of Kenosha and James G. (Nancy) Graham of Verona, WI; her two step-children, Pamela A. Pray of Clinton, IA and Charles J. Makarewicz of Orange, CA; and her four grandchildren, Julie M. Graham, Shannon N. (Doug) Williams, Alexander J. Graham and Megan M. Pray.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Aiello.

Service:

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 39th Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery.

Visitation:

A visitation for Pat will be held on Sunday, October 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
