VERNON – Mrs. Emma Winterton, wife of William Winterton, died Wednesday night at 10:30 at the Broad Street Hospital in Oneida after an illness of three weeks. She had been suffering from a nervous breakdown and had been in the hospital only three days.
Mrs. Winterton was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicodemous Markley and was born in Glenmore 53 years ago. She was married to William Winterton 28 years ago and most of her life was spent in or near Taberg. March 10 of this year, they came to reside on the Osgood Farm, north of this village and during her residence here had made many friends. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Taberg.

Besides her husband, there survives four sons, and one daughter, Raymond, Roy, William and Ruth at home and Merrill of Taberg and one sister, Mrs. B. S. Knight of Canastota.
The funeral was held from her late Home Saturday at 12 o'clock and from the Methodist Church at Taberg at 2 P.M., Rev A. Whiston of Vernon officiating. Misses Silverman and Fox of Taberg sang tow selections, "Some Day We'll Understand and "In the City Foursquare."
Bearers were three sons, Raymond, Merrill and Roy and a nephew Guy Lewis of Canastota. Interment was made in the Taberg Cemetery.
