SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held today, Feb. 17, for Clata Rae McDowall of Springfield, who died Feb. 14 of a heart attack. She was 82.


She was born June 15, 1923, in Lake Arthur, N.M., to George and Jane Johnson Waldrip.


She graduated from Springfield High School. During World War II, she worked as a riveter in California. She enjoyed baseball, crocheting and sewing.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Today's service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with entombment at Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Kidney Foundation.
