Born October 23, 1930, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Willard and Halle May (Campbell) Atkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy (Sprouse) Atkins in 2005.
Surviving are his three daughters, Melanie Vaughn, Tammy Flowers, Teresa Delahunty and their respective spouses, along with four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Homer was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a locksmith in Charlotte, NC for many years.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
