Sagamore Hills resident Jane Ackerman (nee Ingram) performed the roles of teacher, parent and volunteer throughout the adult life. Serving as a teacher before starting her family, once her children were raised and in college she became a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher and Forest Hills Presbyterian Church.
Mrs Ackerman died Dec 18 at Elmcroft Assisted Living Center in Sagamore Hills. She was 80.
Mrs Ackerman is survived by daughters Deborah Czech and Carol Ackerman, both of Sagamore Hills; a son, Robert (Kimberly) of Cincinnati; grandchildren Stephanie Schmid (Paul), Wesley Czech, Ryan, Hannah and Sean Ackerman; sisters Lois Unterborn of Arizona and Dorothy Buchwald of Virginia Beach, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Dec 22 at Northfield Presbyterian Church, 7755 N Boyden Road, Pastor Arthur Helin officiating. Interment at a time to be determined, will be in Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, Northfield.
