"George Antal, 75, of Youngstown, died of arteriosclerosis Sunday afternoon in the Sleigh Bell Residence. He was the father of Mrs. Stephen Poleschuk, of Deer Trail, Canfield. A native of Czechoslovakia, he came to Youngstown in 1908, and prior to his retirement in 1957 he had been employed by the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. for 40 years. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran church and the National Slovak Society. His wife, the former Susanne Mertus, whom he married in 1914, died in 1965. Besides his daughter, he leaves a son, George, of Youngstown; a sister in Europe; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Robert Bayless, were held Wednesday at the Davis-Velker Funeral Home, and interment made in Forest Lawn cemetery."
