Ronald Allen was born in 1909 in Hamilton County, Ohio. His parents are Robert S Allen (1885-) and Pearl Allen (1887-). Ronald has two sisters, Laura E born in 1915 and Coralia born in 1917. Based on the 1920, 1930 and 1940 U.S. Census, the Allen Family lived on Helen Street, Elmwood Place, Hamilton County, Ohio. At the time of the 1920 Census, Ronald was eleven years old, the 1930 Census he was 21 and the 1940 Census he was 31. When he was 31 years old he lived with his Mother and Father and sister Laura E who was 25 years of age. As of 1940, Ronald was a self-employed landscape gardener.

Ronald Allen enlisted March 10, 1941 in the U.S. Army. His term of enlistment was one year. Based on the “Application for Headstone” form from the United States Government, Ronald was assigned to the 372nd Infantry Regiment. “The 372nd Infantry Regiment, active 1918-1946, was an African-American regiment that was a part of the 93rd Infantry Division.
