Earl Shepperd
Earl Shepperd of Waco, retired from the Navy, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was 80.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Waco Memorial Park, Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating.
Mr. Shepperd was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Richland. He married Rena S. Sawyer in 1934; she preceded him in death on March 31, 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the Navy after 22 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Hill of Gulf Shores, Ala.; five brothers, Bob Shepperd, Elmer Shepperd, Milton Shepperd, and James Shepperd, all of Waco, and Elton Shepperd of Oregon; a sister, Margie Osburn of Groesbeck; and a grandson.
