Jonathan Dale Alsup, 64, of Bedford, KY, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.

He was born on March 11, 1950 in Madison, Jefferson County, IN, the son of the late Harold D. Alsup and Billie G. Shimfessel Alsup. He was a 1968 graduate of Trimble County High School and a 1972 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University earning a BBA. He worked for thirty years in sales with Irving Materials, Inc., and Coo-Par Concrete. He was a member of the Crossroads Church in Bedford, KY, the Carrollton Rotary Club, where he served as past President and had served on the Advisory Board for the Carroll County Area Technology Center.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce F. Cole Alsup, to whom he married on February 13, 1981, two sons, Jonathan Mason (Amy) Alsup of Carrollton, KY, and Joshua Clayton Alsup of Bedford, KY, a daughter, Heather Dawn (Patrick) Mefford of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Rodney Glen (Sarah) Alsup of Durham, N.C., a sister, Jan A. (Barry) Joyce of Milton, KY, two grandchildren, Evan Mason Alsup and Camden Sawyer Alsup.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton with the Rev. Larry Franklin presiding over the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton. Burial will be in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, KY.

Pallbearers will be David Mefford, Kenny Gossom, Andrew Wright, David Scott, Mike Parks and Bobby Parker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Stark, Todd Yocum, Earl Floyd, Dennis Goff and Richard Dunaway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carrollton Rotary Club, Hosparus Of Louisville or the Crossroads Church in care of the funeral home.
