Bob Sloan went to meet his loved ones in heaven on November 21, 2009. He was seventy-three years old.

Bobbie Lee Sloan, 73, of Mountain View, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, in Mountain View.

He was born May 30, 1936, in Lebanon, to Orval Oley and Goldie Lee (Fairchild) Sloan.

On March 18, 1961, he married Mary Ann Hayes in Lebanon, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Oliver James and Nellie (Morgan) Fairchild and James Marion and Lucy (Keith) Sloan.

He was a member of the Community Church in Mountain View. He loved computers and all kinds of electronics.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Sloan and his wife, Sue, of Mountain View and James Sloan, of Springfield; a daughter, Rhonda Lee Boyd and her husband, Jimmy, of Mountain View; two sisters, Juanita Lowrance, of Lebanon, and Barbara Darst and her husband, Russell, of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services for Bobbie Lee Sloan will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View with Brad Lowrance and the Rev. Rick Plumlee officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View.

On a lonely, windswept hill.

For loved ones whose lives are stilled.

By graves of tiny babies
Snatched from the arms of loving kin
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where GRANDPARENTS lay
In the last sleep of their time
Lying under the trees and clouds
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where MOM and DAD lay
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past
To be preserved for generations hence
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.
