Born Sept. 27, 1922, in Karlsruhe, Germany, Mrs. Cooke had lived in Seaside for 34 years.
A former employee of CTB-Mc-Graw/Hill, she had volunteered for 10 years with the Boy Scout Pack 35
In Seaside. Mrs. Cooke was recently presented the Den Leader Coach Award and a Veteran Pin by the
Monterey Bay Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and needle-
work.
Mrs. Cooke is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Cooke of Seaside; a son, Lawrence H. Cooke and
wife Iris and four grandchildren Lawrence F. Cooke III, Heather M. Cooke, David S. Cooke, Ashleigh A.
Cooke; a daughter Monika Cooke Thatcher Abraham of Karlsruhe, Germany and a granddaughter
Angelique Ulrike Thatcher predeceased (5th grandchild).
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Monterey Peninsula Mortuary chapel. A funeral
Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the mortuary, followed by burial at Mission Memorial
Park.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of the Central Coast, P.O.
Box 1798, Monterey 93942.
