He was born May 5, 1911, in West Rutland, the son of Otto Edward and Amanda (Anderson) Johnson.
He worked as a machinist at Vermont Marble Co. for 48 years.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1122 in Rutland.
Survivors include three sons, Edward O. Johnson Jr. of Hayden Lake, Idaho, John Johnson of Ira and Richard A. Johnson of West Rutland; two daughters, Ceil Young of Custer, Wash., and Carol Phillips of Rutland; three grandsons; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Gladys Johnson, and a son, Bruce Johnson, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Tossing Funeral Home in Rutland. The Rev. Sharon Hugh, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be later at Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
