Donald Joseph McCarthy, 76, born in Lansdowne, PA on October 14, 1937 to Francis and Margaret (Lynch) McCarthy. Don entered into rest at his home in Walnut Creek on July, 29, 2014. Don graduated in 1960 from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Finance. He retired as Vice President and Controller from American Building Maintenance Inc (ABM) after 25 successful years. Don was a member of St. John Vianney Church Community and volunteered at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. His favorite past time was golfing with his friends from the group named the Odd Squad. He was an active member of Villanova alumni and involved in west coast recruitment. He was the Home Owner Association President of Brooktree at the Park for over 20 years. Don was married to Anne McCarthy for 44 years until her death in 2008. He is survived by his children, Lisa Yates, Karen MacDonald (Paul), Brian McCarthy (Angie), Joanne Jordan (Michael); siblings Patricia Morley and Frank McCarthy; Grandchildren Connor and Drake MacDonald, Madison Yates and enduring partner, Lee Keyser. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 beginning at 10:00AM at St. John Vianney Church, 1650 Ygnacio ValleyRoad, Walnut Creek CA. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA. The family appreciates memorial donations in Don's memory to Hospice at Bruns House, 2849 Miranda Ave, Alamo, CA 94507.
