Rev. Ephraim Peabody D. D. [Jr.]
He was tutored by the Rev. Thomas Beede who had guided a number of young men into the Unitarian ministry. After graduation from the Divinity School in 1830, Peabody first went to Meadville, PA where he preached and tutored the family of Harm Jan Huidekoper. In 1832 Peabody accepted a call to the First Congregational Church of Cincinnati. Here began his long association with Rev. James Freeman Clarke, then minister in Louisville, with whom he worked in editing a new Unitarian periodical, the Western Messenger.

Graduated from Bowdoin College in 1827. Settled as a Minster in Cincinnati, OH in 1831. Pastor of the First Congregational Society [Unitarian] of New Bedford in 1838, and of King's Chapel in Boston 1846. D.D. at Bowdoin 1848. "A man of sound judgment and self-sacrificing benevolence, combining with great practical wisdom the upmost simplicity and purity of character."
