Dr. Frank M. Eddins, born April 13, 1935, joined our Lord and Savior in Heaven on January 14, 2011. He died as he lived, with modesty and humility, lacking ego or drama. As per his wishes, no service was held.

His life is celebrated by his beloved wife, Hester; daughter and son-in-law, Flossy Eddins-Folensbee and Rowland Folensbee; grandchildren, Tre, Tyler, Matt, and Meredith Folensbee; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Pat Fremming; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Don Earles; cousins, Marye and Gil Cox; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

He was revered by his medical colleagues as one of the "giants of medicine" and served as an "angel of healing and mercy" to the many patients for whom he cared during his 47 years of practice in the Diboll and Lufkin communities. His educational preparation for his life of caretaking came from Southwestern University where he was class president for several years and president of the student body his senior year, and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he was graduated with honors.
