The headstone and death certificate have the wrong birth date. He couldn't have been born in 1882 cause his father was born in 1879 and his mother in 1890... and they didn't marry until 1904 (which lists her as 15 when they married, but her other records say she was 14). His WWII draft card lists his birth as Feb 16, 1902 in East Concord, VT (his mother would have only been 12 years old!).

His death certificate lists it as Feb 16, 1882. All his marriage records and census range from 1879 to 1901... except the 1900 census which lists him as 1905. I really believe he was born Feb 16, 1905 in Concord, VT (but of course their birth index in categories on familysearch doesn't list his birth in any year. His mother died in 1906, and his father remarried before 1910 but I can't find where he stuck Claude in 1910 to see what that census says.
