MIDVALE-- Garn McGilvra Abbott, age 68, passed away at his home in Midvale of complications following heart surgery.
Born August 23, 1927 in Sutherland, Utah to James Howard and Lillian McGilvra Abbott. He married Annette Gove Rosendahl in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 16, 1966. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 8, 1974.
Garn retired from KCC after 34 years and was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved gardening and yard work, fishing and working with the Scouts. He loved to spoil his grandchildren. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Survivors: wife, Annette, Midvale; sons, Douglas Rosendahl (Shirla); Gary Rosendahl (Nance); Val and Kerry Abbott; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Myron, Grants Pass, Oregon; Dean, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lemuel, Payson,Utah; sister, Eldona Leavitt, Bunkerville, Nevada. Preceded in death by parents; son, John Abbott; four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. in the Midvale 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 465-6th Ave. (7500 South). Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
