Walter DeMert, was born June 4, 1897 in Adams County, and was educated in Marquette County. He farmed, and then entered World War I. After his term in service he returned to a farm in Dodge County before coming to Clark County in 1827. They farmed until 1951, when they moved to South Milwaukee to make their home. His marriage to the former Eva Hansen took place on Nov. 24, 1920 in Westfield. (From obituary)
