Maxine Thelma (Yocum) Bair, 94, of Mechanicsburg, died at home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was born in Derry Township, Montour County, on Sunday, July 28, 1918, daughter of the late Clyde Yocum and Mary (Murray) Yocum. Maxine was the widow of Linwood William Bair whom she married on July 6, 1942, and who died on September 9, 1974.
Maxine's survivors include her son, Gary D. Bair and his wife Barbara of Mechanicsburg; her grandsons, Brandon W. Shetterly and his wife April of Liverpool, Stephen M. Bair and his wife Jillian of Carbondale; two grandchildren; and three nieces. Among those preceding Maxine in death was her daughter Molly Houser.
Maxine graduated from Muncy High School as part of the class of 1936. She was a longtime member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Shiremanstown. Maxine was an accomplished seamstress, who was proud to have made her daughter-in-laws wedding gown. Maxine loved to play bingo, and visit with neighbors and friends.
Services, cremation and interment in St. John's Cemetery, in Mechanicsburg will be private and at the family's convenience. ===========================================
