SOCRATES BEALL DIES AFTER YEAR'S ILLNESS

Memphian, 53, Was Former Mill Superintendent


Socrates Beall, former general superintendent of the Wunderlick Mills at Wilson and Kaiser, Ark., died at 11:45 o'clock yesterday morning at his residence, 338 Olive, after a year's illness. He was 53.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. V. A. DeShazo at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning at Cosmopolitan funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

And native of Bassett, Ark., Mr. Beall moved to Memphis about five years ago and was bookkeeper in the city Food Stamp Office for some time. He received his education in the public schools at Wilson, where he moved as a child, and attended business schools at Little Rock and Nashville.

For 17 years he was employed by the Creamery Package Manufacturing Co. at Wilson, and also was employed by the Lee Wilson Co. there. He was a member of the Parkway Methodist Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lilliam Dedman Beall; three sons, Richard D., Socrates Jr. and Edward E. Beall; four daughters, Beverly Sue and Barbara Lou Beall, Mrs. A. A. Holly, all of Memphis, and Mrs. Sam Dilahunty of Osceola, Ark.; and a brother, E. B. Beall of Bassett, Ark.
