Lucy York was born June 13, 1926 in Jackson County and departed this life Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Jackson Manor in Annville, being 84 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Jesse (Cuz) & Minnie (Lovins) Hicks.

Lucy was united in marriage to Willie York on September 11, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2003. Lucy is survived by her daughter Geraldine Lainhart of Tyner and by one grandson Matthew Lainhart also of Tyner. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was also preceded in death by two sons Everett York and Sheryl Edward King, five brothers and seven sisters. Lucy was a member of the Whispering Pines Baptist Church.
. Burial followed in the Tyner Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim & Jeff Madden, Anthony York, Charlie Brown, Brian Hicks & Harold Browning. Honorary pallbearers were David Reynolds, Larry Hicks, Howard, Bennie, Carl & Monroe Brown.
