Ronald William Crowe (70) of Middletown, DE, passed suddenly, yet peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 17, 2019. He now resides in his Heavenly Home.

Ron was born in Wilmington, DE on December 5, 1948, the son of John and Dorothy (Woodward) Crowe. He grew up and attended school in Claymont, DE and graduated as a member of the Claymont High School Class of 1968. He attended and graduated from Goldey-Beacom Business School in 1970.

Ron was born with Cerebral Palsy, but it never kept him from doing all the things he loved to do in his life. His affliction never defined him. He was a loyal son, brother, husband, and father and had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He was a beloved son, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a love for sports from an early age starting with t-ball and basketball. In high school, he helped manage the football team. In his adult life he was an avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and NASCAR.

Ron met his wife, Deborah Marie Schroeder when he was a volunteer at the Claymont Firehouse. They married September 4, 1976 and were blessed with two sons who they raised together for 16 years until the death of his wife to cancer in 1993. Ron continued to raise his two sons (15 and 13) on his own.

Ron enjoyed employment with the Delaware State Highway Department in various roles including being an Inspector. He retired in February 2014 after 40+ years of loyal service. In retirement, he enjoyed attending luncheons at Duffer's reconnecting with some of his CHS classmates. Ron was happy spending his retirement years helping his family and his six grandchildren, whether it was getting them on and off the school bus, attending their sports games, taking them to dinner or shopping for a gift they wanted. Family meant everything to Ron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Crowe; his wife, Debbie and son, James (Jamie) Michael Crowe.

Grateful for having shared his life is his living son, Timothy John (Jacqui) Crowe, Middletown; deceased son’s former wife, Ashley; six grandchildren all in Delaware: Nathanial, Tamrah, Cameron, Max, Jaxon and Brenna; two sisters: Barbara (Gary) Custis, Overland Park, KS and Deborah (Chuck) Brown, Arvada, CO as well as multiple nieces and nephews living from coast to coast across the country as well as two nephews in England and Austria.

Services will be held on Friday, November 22nd, in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow.
