She was born in Jenningsville, Jan. 22, 1919, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie Mullinex Farr. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Fassett, Jr. and her second husband, Herbert Cole.
Ella was formerly employed by garment factories and last employed at Hitchcock's Restaurant in Laceyville.
She was a member of the Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church, the Lovelton Grange and the Sugar Run Birthday Club. She loved to crochet and quilt and spend time at craft fairs. Ella was also preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Marie Fassett and two grandsons, Charles Robert Fassett and Francis Fassett. Surviving are three daughters and their spouses, Martha and husband, Stephen Boice, with whom Ella had resided for 14 years, Mary and husband, Bill Walter of Wyalusing and Iva Fassett of Laceyville; seven sons, and spouses, Bill Fassett and wife, Mary of Lawton, Clifford Fassett and wife, Carol of Lawton, Perle Fassett and wife, Elisa of Lawton, David Fassett and wife, Margaret of Laceyville, Richard Fassett and wife, Ruth of Wyalusing, Charles Fassett and wife, Joyce of Laceyville and Edward Fassett and wife, Lynn of Meshoppen; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor John Hardman-Zimmerman of Southern Care Hospice, officiating. Interment was in the Lacey St. Cemetery, Laceyville. Friends called an hour before the service."
