Funeral services for Gaston Alexander, 91, of Celeste, were held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Celeste with James Ralson and Bob Layman officiating. Burial followed in the Hogeye Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 in the Leonard Manor nursing home. Gaston was born Aug. 13, 1914 in Bailey, the son of Erman Lee and Eulah Lee Duncan Alexander. He married his love, Hilda Viola "Dot" Alexander on July 1, 1934, and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste and was a retired Airplane Inspector. He was also a member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by sisters; Sybil Hutcheson of Lubbock, Melba Compton of Celeste and Pebble Renfrow of Greenville; brother, Nat Alexander of Van; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by is parents; three brothers, Mendal Alexander, Bemis Alexander and J. Demsey Alexander; two sisters, Ouida Compton and D. Nell Alexander.
Family visitation was held Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home in Leondard.
