Bamberg - Miss Natalie Hooton, 78, died Saturday in Charleston after a long illness.
Born in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late Drewery Flowers and Cornelia Peeples Lewis Hooton. She taught school in North Carolina and was a social welfare worker in Bamberg until her retirement in 1968.
Miss Hooton was a graduate of Chicora College, Columbia, and was a member of Bamberg First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs Thelma Lewis Spann of Bamberg, and three nephews, A Pringle Spann and Joseph Elliott Spann Jr, of Charleston and John Hooton Camp of Atlanta.
Services will be held at 1 pm today in Lawtonville Cemetery, Estill.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to Bamberg First Baptist Church.
