Pansy Johnson Dies At Age 69; Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Pansy I. Johnson died at 2:15 p.m. Friday at her home 422 Bell, at the age of 69 years three months, and 12 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Dale Brown officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. today. Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 6, 1897, at Thompsonville, Mo. the daughter of Duke and Rhoda (Bridges) Bransteller. She was first married to Walter Davis, who preceded her in death in 1922. She later married Fred Johnson, who died Nov. 18, 1966. Survivors include four daughters, Christina Johnson, Samelda Neal, Mary Jane Oliver, and Florence Browder, all of this city; a step-daughter, Edna Underwood of Bradley, Ill.; a son, James F . Johnson of Upper Darby, Pa.; a step-son, Cecil Johnson of Mt. Vernon; 28 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, a daughter, and a step-son. Mrs. Johnson, a licensed practical nurse, was a member of the V.F.W. auxiliary.
