Deceased Name: Willard, Wilbur E.
Wilbur E. Willard passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2007, following a year of declining health. He was born May 8, 1916, in Lamont, Okla., to Jay and Fern Willard, and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Wilbur's studies at Oklahoma University were interrupted by World War II, in which he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. During the war, he met and married his late wife of many years, Eula Boudreaux Willard. He was a graduate of LSU and an electrical engineer with the Ethyl Corp. for more than 30 years. He dearly loved being outdoors fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Arlene Moceri, and Dale and Betsy Willard, all of Houston, and Janet and Mark Jones of Atlanta; grandchildren, Trevor and Lauren Jones and Erin and Drew Willard; sister, Mary O'Neal of Moberly, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Ollie Steele Burden Manor for their loving care. Mr. Willard asked that his body be donated to the LSU Medical School in New Orleans. A memorial Mass and gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 5, at the 9:30 a.m. daily service at St. Francis Chapel of Ollie Steele Burden Manor, 4200 Essen Lane.
