MRS.KIEKHAEFER, 83, MOTHER OF FOUNDER OF CITY FIRM

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Kiekhaefer, 83, of Mequon, mother of E. C. Kiekhaefer, president of the outboard motor firm which bears his name, will be Monday in Mequon. She died Thursday at Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee after a lingering illness.

The body will be in state at the Densow Funeral Home, 423 N. Main St. Thiensville, after 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday until 11 a.m.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1616 W. Mequon road, in Mequon. Rev. R. E. Pope will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Kiekhaefer was born March 4, 1884, in Mequon, the daughter of Carl and Clara Wessel. One of 11 children, she was married in 1905 to Arnold Kiekhaefer, who preceded her in death in 1950.

She is survived by her son of Fond du Lac, who with his father founded the Kiekhaefer Corp in 1939; and by six daughters, Mrs. Palma Moerschel, Mequon, Mrs. Fred Westendorf, Fox Point, Mrs. John Gottlinger, Fond du Lac, Mrs. Wilmer Pike, Oshkosh, Mrs. Charles Biever, Sheboygan and Mrs. Wallace Scheunemann, West Bend.

Other survivors include a brother, John Wessel of Mequon; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Maul and Mrs. Rose Geidel, both of Milwaukee; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
