John "Frank" Carter, 93, of Mi-Wuk Village died Friday at his home.
Mr. Carter was a native of Indian Territory, Okla. He lived in Mi-Wuk Village 60 years. He was a self-employed barber 40 years. In 1979, he was grand marshal of Tuolumne County Jubilee. He was a member of Sierra Squares and Swing Ding Dandies. He was a square dance caller 30 years in Tuolumne County.

He is survived by his children, John Carter of Elko, Nev., Dave Carter of Cherry Creek, Nev., Rebekah Royce of Sonora and Elizabeth Spinetto of Tuolumne City; and nine grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at home of Allan Royce in Mi-Wuk Village. Heuton Memorial Chapel, Sonora, in charge of arrangements.
