Born March 13, 1929, in Campobello, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Absher and Jessie (Parks) Absher.
He was retired from Beverage Air, a U.S. Army Veteran, and Free Will Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Louise Hadden Absher; a daughter, Libby Johnson and her husband Bill of Cross Anchor; and two grandsons, Stoney Byrnside of Reidville, and Jerry Byrnside, Jr. of Arcadia.
Graveside services were held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Kenneth Cash.
