Charles Lamar Holmes, 79, of Dunn died at Wake Medical Center. He worked as a meat cutter at Lee's IGA for more than 20 years and was also a heavy equipment mechanic at Mid-Atlantic for more than 10 years. Funeral service held at Glad Tidings Church.
Preceded in death by parents Lonnie and Lois Holmes; sister, Helen Lee. Survived by brothers Gene Holmes and wife Paula, Perry McElroy and wife Joan, all of Dunn; and sisters, Frances Jones of Austell, Ga., Ruth Tart and husband Duvall, Peggy Johnson and husband Roy, Edna Autry and husband Wallace, all of Dunn.
