A native of Boyleston, Mr. Rowe resided most of his life in the Orwell area. He retired in 1965 after 10 years with the town of Orwell Highway Department. Mr. Rowe also drove buses for the Altmar and Pulaski school districts. His wife, the former Ella Bernice Gorton, died in 1983.
Mr. Rowe was a member of the Orwell Fire Department and a former member of the Tug Hill Planning Board.
Surviving are four sons, Howard of Watertown, Paul and Rex, both of Dugway, and Donald of Hastings; six daughters, Betty Jean Menard and Virginia Gladle, both of Watertown, Shirley Rowe of Mexico, Rosemarie Barber of Sandy Creek, Phyllis LeBeau of Pulaski and Peggy Lovenguth of Williamstown; 32 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Spring graveside services will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.- Syracuse Herald-Journal (NY) - December 24, 1992
