Victor Newman, Rector Apartments, died enroute to Ball Hospital Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was a painting contractor and was custodian at his apartment house. He had formerly been employed by Mitchell Painting and Cleaning Co. for 20 years.
Mr. Newman was a life resident of Delaware County and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Sirkle, Detroit, and Mrs. James E. Fisher, RR 1, Muncie; five sons, Robert J. Newman, Detroit, Lamar K. Branson and Ronald H. Branson, Muncie, Rev. Merrill C. Branson, Johnstown, Pa., and Dana A. Branson, Chicago; his mother, Mrs. Laura Wainscott, Muncie; 21 grandchildren, and a brother, Harley Newman, Indianapolis.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and before services Thursday at 10 a.m. there. Rev. Dale Brinker will officiate. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
