Mrs. Cora Armentrout, 64, well known resident of the Lacey Spring section, died Thursday night at 10:40 at (illegible) hospital in Washington following an illness of three months, Mrs. Armentrout was stricken while visiting her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Liskey, of Washington, three months ago and had been ill at their home until five weeks ago when she was taken in the hospital.

Mrs. Armentrout was born near Melrose on August 15, 1876, and was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Bazzle. She spent her entire life in the Lacey Spring section.

About 11 years ago she was united in marriage with W.H. "Burke" Armentrout, well known livestock dealer and farmer, who preceded her in death in 1927.

Mrs. Armentrout was a woman of splendid character and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. She leaves a host of friends who mourn her passing.

Surviving are five children, Mrs. Halsie (Illegible), Mrs. George Liskey, and Miss. Mayme Armentrout, all of Washington, two sons, Glen Armentrout, at home, and Clint Armentrout, of near Shenandoah, three brothers, L.A. Bazzle, of Harrisonburg, Ernest Bazzle, of Lacey Spring, and John Bazzle of Melrose, two sisters, Miss. Maude Bazzle, of Harrisonburg, and Mrs. (Illegible) Loker of Melrose, four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Fellowship Methodist Church with friends meeting at the (Illegible) Funeral Home in Harrisonburg at 3:30. Service will be conducted by Rev. H.B. Alexander. Burial will be in Lacey Spring Cemetery.
