SAULSVILLE - Hazel Lea Clay, 72, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, in a Princeton hospital.

Born Dec. 5, 1930, in Welch, she was the daughter of the late George W. King (1906-Deceased) and Laura Belle Polk-King (1909-Deceased).

Mrs. Clay was retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education. She was a member of the Saulsville Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Wyoming County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dale Clay (1924-1988) whom she married on February 7, 1948 (per WV Marriage Certificate Register, Wyoming County, WV, Page 141, Application Date: February 2, 1948); two brothers, Gerald King (Deceased) and Stanley King (Deceased).

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra K. Clay-May (1950-2013) of Saulsville; and Linda Clay-Hill and her husband, Jerry Hill, of Saulsville; two sisters, Joyce King-Divita of Chicago; and Louise King-Bailey of Beckley; and four grandchildren, Phillip Hill and his wife, Christina; Jeremiah May and his wife, Amber; Phillina Hill and Josh May.

Graveside services will be 11:a.m. today at the Clay Cemetery, Saulsville, with the Rev. Jack Barker officiating.
