Helena Nettie Taylor Curd, 94, of Clairton, died peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at West Penn Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Johnstown, to the late Emory Williams and Cora Bentzoni Williams. Helena is survived by three daughters, Susan (Howard) Rowan, of Clairton, A. Taylor (John) Williams Wright, of Gladwyne, and Kerry (Thomas) Taylor Geletko, of Clairton; and one brother Ed Williams, of West Mifflin. Helena is also survived by eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Novice E. Curd; and brothers, Emory Jr., Pete, John and Bertram Williams. Helena was a 1937 graduate of Clairton High School, a Clairton resident for 55 years, a waitress at St. Clare Restaurant for 30 years and an avid reader. Helena loved her family and will be missed deeply. Arrangements are entrusted to S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. Sixth St., Clairton, PA 15025. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Manns Choice, Pa., at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to ASPCA Online. Condolences may be shared at http://www.finneyfuneralhome.com.
