"The death of Calvin S. Brott, at his home in the Fourth ward, in Brookfield, on December 26, 1905, came as a surprise. He had been on duty as night marshall the night before. He was taken suddenly ill and died within a few hours. The funeral occurred from the Christian church on Friday, December 29, at 2 o'clock, under the auspices of Woodmen of the World. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Grant A. Robbins, after which the interment took place at Rose Hill cemetery.
