Harold Boyd Ayers, 83, of Bryson City passed away Sunday July 27th, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Swain County, and a veteran of the Korean War, he was the son of the late John and Minda Ayers.
He was preceded in death by his sister Joann Ayers Bradley of Cherokee and his brother Robert Ayers of Bryson City.
He is survived by his wife Gwyndolyn Cline Ayers, one daughter Vicky Ayers Jenkins and husband Richard of Cherokee, two grandchildren John Ayers and Richelle Jenkins, sister Louise Ayers Hurley and husband Robert of Bryson City, brother David Ayers of Homer, Georgia, brother-in-law David Bradley of Cherokee, and sister-in-law Loumae Ayers of Bryson City, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 30th, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Birdtown Cemetery.
