She was born May 29, 1923, in Augsburg, to Charles Paul and Nora Etta Pless Niemeyer.
She loved to quilt, cook for her family, plant and can from her garden, and tend to her many flowers. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jess Austin; one brother, Coyd Niemeyer; and three sisters, Coyce Staggs, Loyce Bauman Crawford, and Doyce Foster.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jane and Paul Johnson, and Jean and Kirby Hemmer, all of Dover; three grandchildren and their spouses, Anita and David Dennis of Russellville; Michael Joe and Aimee Hemmer of Dover; and Amanda Hamby of Dover; four great-grandchildren, Baylee Austin, Brooklyn Hamby, Bethany Hamby, and Cahill Hemmer, and three step-great-grandchildren, Jake, Madison, and Payton Green.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jerry Turner. Burial will be in North New Hope Cemetery at Dover by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
