Joseph married Wilma Lehmbeck in 1926 in Davenport.

He retired in 1967 as a machinist at the former International Harvester Plant, East Moline Works. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Davenport.

He leaves a daughter, Joan Edens and a son Joseph Cinadr, both of Davenport. A brother, Frank, in Bettendorf also survives him.

There were six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
