Adam Randall Aakre, 21, a former Gateway 2000 employee, died Wednesday, Nov 27, 1996, due to injuries received in an auto accident near the Highway 50 and I-90 intersection.
Mr Aakre was born June 18, 1975, in Miles City, Mont. He has lived in Vermillion for 12 1/2 years, and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1994. He attended the University of South Dakota and Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked in quality control at Gateway 2000 for two years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vermilllion and was a member of Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts. He became an Eagle Scout in 1993.
Survivors include his parents, The Revs. Sandy and Shelley Aakre of Vermillion; three brothers: Aaron of Great Falls, Mont.; and Adrian and Arlan, both of Vermillion; and his grandmothers: Madge Aakre of Circle, Mont.; and Montana Whitmer of Montrose, Mont.
Services begin at 2 pm Saturday in the Vermilion High School gymnasium, with burial in the Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion.
Visitation begins Friday from 3 to 7 pm at the First Baptist Church in Vermillion, with a prayer service at 7 pm also at the church.
The Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion is in charge of the arrangements.
