James E. Borton, 50, died
unexpectedly of an apparent
heart attack Thursday, July 20.
1977, at his home 2553 Ind. 43-S,
Lafayette.
He retired last January after
operating the Spot Tavern for 24
years at Lafayette.
The Shadeland High School graduate
attended Purdue University. In
1949 he was married to Charlotte
A. Kaiser. The Marine veteran of
World War II was a member of
American Legion Post 75 at Delphi.
Surviving with the widow are a
son; three daughters two
brothers, including Paige Borton
of Delphi; two sisters and one
grandson.
Final rites were Friday at
Lafayette with interment in St.
Boniface Cemetery.
