Earl Adcock age 79 of Smithville, passed away Thursday night, July 3, 2014 at his residence. Earl was born October 23, 1934 to his parents, the late Obie and Effie Adcock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Adcock and Son-in-law, Steve Turner. Bro. Earl was a longtime Minister, member of the Missionary Baptist Church, Owner of Triple A Photography, National Guard Veteran and one of the first DeKalb County Volunteer Firemen. He is survived by his wife of 59 yrs. Jo Doris Adcock of Smithville; 2 children, Sharon Turner and Kevin (Judy) Adcock both of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Turner, Corey Turner, Preston Adcock and Rachel Adcock; 2 great-grandchildren, Baylee and Ashley Phillips; sister, Orthana Young of Smithville; 4 nephews, Larry and Douglas Adcock, Glen and Tim Young. Graveside services and interment will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Larry Green officiating. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home, family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the 1:00 PM Graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the DeKalb Animal Coalition or to Lighthouse Christian Camp, in memory of Bro. Earl.
