Elizabeth Anne Boedecker was born on November 13, 1929 in Maryville, Missouri. Her parents were Carl Ambrose Boedecker and Marguerite E. Sturm. She married Clifford Ray Crisp in Jackson, Missouri on June 16, 1951. They had four children together: Carla, Kevin, John and Steve.

Betty died on January 18, 2006 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 76 years old. She was buried next to her husband at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City.
