Military funeral services for Sgt. Alfred Joseph Patenaude, 29, of 6 Maple Street, Cranston, who died in action in Korea, Feb 16,were held yesterday from the Prata Funeral Home in Providence. Burail was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, where a volly was fired by a squad from the Rhode Island natinal Guard. Bearers were Edward Pomfret, Edward Platt, William Hanley and Frank Miller. Born in Warwick, Feb 11, 1922, Sergeant Patenaude was in the Army seven years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen (Pomfret) Patenaude; and three children, Sandra, Frank and Robert. Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patenaude of Warwick; three sisters, Mrs. William Hanley, Mres Edward Platt and Mrs. Frank Miller, all of Providence; and three bohers, George and Edward of Providence, and Ernest of California.
The Military Marker has the wrong birth year. Paperwork submitted as 1920 but several documents show his birth year as 1922 which is correct
