MRS. AMANDA ROSS DIES THIS MORNING - Funeral Services Friday Afternoon
Mrs. Amanda Ann Ross, 83, lifelong resident of St. Mary's township, died at 10:20 o'clock this morning at her home four miles southeast of Decatur on the Piqua road. She had been ill for the past eight months.
She was born in Adams county Jan 17, 1867, a daughter of Phillip and Margaret Roop Thatcher. Her husband, Richard Ross, died May 3, 1933.
Surviving are six sons, Orval and Clark Ross of Decatur, Joseph of Lima, O., Harry, Robert and Arthur Ross, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Beck of Decatur and Miss Viola Ross, at home; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
One son and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the residence, the Rev. L. A. Middaugh officiating. Burial will be at Willshire, O. The body will be removed from the Zwick funeral home to the residence, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
