Walter Newton Blackmon, CCMSGT, USAF retired, 80, died July 23, 2014. "The Chief" served in the USAF and retired in 1978 after 27+ years service to our country. He was a Command Advisor and served during both Korean and Vietnam. Walt was also a past Worshipful Master in Nashville, Georgia, AF&AM. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Blackmon Salas, and wife Martha Nell Blackmon and is survived by his wife Clara Blackmon; son Walter Roy Blackmon & wife Robin; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Barbara and Brenda; and brother Henry. Funeral Services will be at 11AM on Mon., 7/28, at Aldine Funeral Chapel. Military Honor Committal Rites will be at 2:30 PM on Mon., 7/28, at the Houston National Cemetery.
