Grace (Aiello) Toporzycki, 87, of Liverpool, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Giuseppi and Carmela (Basile) Aiello. Grace worked at Dey Brothers, where she met her husband, Walter. She was later employed with General Electric, Will & Baumer Candle Co. and Prestolite. She was an active member with Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, taught Religious Ed., Choir Member, two term Legion of Mary President and two term Syracuse Comitium President. Grace also volunteered at the Francis House and enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Walter J. Toporzycki, Sr. in 2008; her twin brother, Nicholas Aiello and her sister, Mary Barnello. Grace is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Toporzycki of Baldwinsville; four sons, Walter (MaryAnne) Toporzycki, Jr. of Massachusetts; Nicholas (Dawn) Toporzycki of Liverpool, John Toporzycki of Liverpool, and Edward Toporzycki of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Ned Aiello of Texas; her sister, Caroline DeVita of Syracuse, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Grace's life at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
