Nolan Cecil Attaway of Auburn died Oct. 29, 2004. He was 81.

Born Feb. 6, 1923, in Newsome, Tex., he was a longtime resident of Auburn and worked at Rohr Industries.

He was a U.S. Marine Raider and served in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Monette; parents, Henry and Gladys Attaway; and brother, Jack Attaway.

He is survived by his brother, Alton Attaway of Texas; and sister, Clyrene Chase of Centralia.
